In reading Chapter 2 of The Audio Expert by Ethan Winer I learnt more in depth about one of the four factors of Audio quality; distortion; and more so; learnt how intermodulation distortion rears its head depending on how signals are processed.
So I set up some null-tests, for sine-waves, instruments and snare drums to see how IMD came into affect for each and come to conclusions on where and how mixing engineers should be considerate to the effects or introduction of this sort of distortion in a signal chain;
