#17 Italian Independent Artist Release Charts June 2018.
Simone Carbone is an Italian record producer, mixing engineer and lead singer of alternative rock band Asymmetry of Ego. He spent a long time producing, recording and mixing a collection of works dating between 2014 to 2018. Over the years, as his skills evolved, so did the sound of each of the songs.
It was our mission to exhibit the diversity of the songs, maintain the character of each, whilst maintaining a cohesive collection fit for an album.
Through a solid briefing session and constant communication, I had developed an understanding of Simone as an artist, his productions, mixes, and his objectives. I was able to identify the best of each track whilst preserving the distinct "sound" Simone and the band imparted.
The mastering session was extensive - there was quite a bit of flicking between mixes and masters to pair up the timbre and dynamic consistencies along the whole record. When processing the masters were completed, and rendering of the final formats took place, they were sent off for approval. We received sign-off with no changes. The mastering was a success.
The main objective was to allow listeners to experience a deep, creative connection with the band’s music. This, and more, was achieved. The release of the album was supported by a successful marketing campaign, and accrued over 130K plays on YouTube alone. It premiered on some of Italy’s leading rock music media including Billboard Italia, and led to an international distribution and a European tour.
